NGC Standard Flower Shows
Division 1 Horticulture
All horticulture specimens must be fresh plant materials grown by the exhibitor. Not all Sections have flowers, as some plants are grown for foliage. For this show we were "driving the Mile Markers through the Florida Keys".
Division 2 Design
Traditional or creative styling contains fresh plant material and is within the rules of the specific show. For this show, the theme was "Are We There Yet!"
Division 3 Education
Educational exhibits this year included "Did You Know?": The development and impact on the Florida Keys by Henry Flagler's Railroad from Miami to Key West AND Native wildlife throughout the Florida Keys
Division 4 Youth
It is important to get kids involved early! Our school entries were Whispering Pines Elementary School and Loggers Run Middle School. They "Created a Patch of Heaven" with both Youth Horticulture and Youth Botanical Arts Designs.
Division 5 Botanical Arts - Section A Botanical Artistic Crafts
This Division had two sections. Section A "Ahoy There, Matey" focused on "Treasures in Pirate Cove" with Cap'n Jack searching for the treasure trove hidden long ago.
Division 5 Botanical Arts - Section B Photography
The Photography was "Picture Perfect" with Section B titled "I Spy From The Crow's Nest..." with three interesting classes.
President's Message
On this our 70th Anniversary with the Federation of Garden Clubs and the City of Boca Raton, we welcomed you to our 2024 National Garden Club, Inc. Standard Flower Show entitled, "Discover Paradise... The Florida Keys"
Creating a Flower Show is one of the many ways our members can share the goals of the National Garden Club. "Discover Paradise... The Florida Keys" is our gift to the community. We hope you enjoyed the many varieties of Horticulture and Design Exhibits that garden club members created or grew.
Bringing awareness to how our actions, and the actions of others impact the environment is part of our educational mission. Please join us and help create positive environmental changes, not only for ourselves, but for future generations.
Thank you to our Flower Show Chairman, Bonnie Nichols, and Schedule Chairman, Mary Kaub and all the members who have worked together to make this show one to remember.
